Your recycling solution
Batteries are classified as hazardous waste under the Hazardous Waste Regulations. In May 2009 the UK Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations were introduced to reduce the amount end-of-life batteries which end up in landfill.
As a fully licenced recycling company, Juz Electronic provides a recycling scheme for batteries, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and UPS batteries. This service is offered throughout the UK, we also service take back schemes for retailers and distributers of batteries.
In order to comply with these regulations, if you are a producer of waste (manufacturer or importers, businesses who place batteries on to the UK market for the first time) you are required to finance the recycling costs of these batteries.
If you are a distributor (retailer) who sells over 32kg of batteries each year, you must offer a take back scheme to ensure the batteries are recycled responsibly. If a retailer sells less than 32 kg of batteries, or if the batteries are built in to appliances then they are exempt from these regulations, however you may still use our services to recycle your batteries for your corporate social responsibility programme.
